Position Summary:
The Director of Administration and Transformative Justice Initiatives is a strategic leader who strengthens the systems, partnerships, and infrastructure that advance Damascus Way’s mission of multigenerational and community transformation. As a key member of the leadership team, this full-time position provides executive-level administrative leadership and supports initiatives serving individuals and families impacted by incarceration, substance use disorders, trauma, and systemic barriers.
Approximately 50% of the role is dedicated to serving as the and Communications Coordinator (Office of Restorative Justice Grant Program), overseeing grant implementation, stakeholder engagement, reporting, and communications.
Reports To: Executive Director
Status: Full-Time dual role, (40 hours executed through this role)
Pay Range: $31.00 – $34.00 per hour, depending on qualifications

Key Responsibilities:Long-Term Sustainability
- Provide strategic administrative leadership and executive support to the Executive Director and Senior Leadership Team, coordinating organizational planning, leadership meetings, special projects, and execution of strategic priorities.
- Strengthen long-term sustainability by supporting fundraising initiatives, donor and sponsor engagement, grant development and compliance, stewardship activities, and community events that advance organizational growth and mission impact.
- Build and maintain relationships with funders, community stakeholders, service providers, referral partners, and civic leaders while supporting initiatives that expand Damascus Way’s impact in Transformative Justice, Reentry and Recovery Services, and Youth and Family Services.
Capacity & Infrastructure
- Provide strategic administrative leadership and executive support to the Executive Director and Senior Leadership Team, ensuring organizational priorities, planning efforts, and key initiatives advance Damascus Way’s Transformative Justice mission.
- Strengthen organizational sustainability through fundraising support, donor and sponsor engagement, grant development, compliance, stewardship activities, and community events that expand resources and mission impact.
- Cultivate and maintain strategic relationships with funders, community stakeholders, service providers, referral partners, and civic leaders to advance reentry, recovery, family transformation and transformative justice.
- Support the growth and evaluation of Transformative Justice, Reentry and Recovery Services, Youth and Family initiatives by aligning organizational systems, partnerships, and resources to create multigenerational transformation and community change.
Evidence-Based Programming & Services
- Lead the implementation, coordination, and evaluation of Transformative Justice programs and initiatives that support individuals and families impacted by incarceration, substance use disorders, trauma, and systemic inequities, ensuring services are trauma-informed, culturally responsive, family-centered, and grounded in evidence-based and promising practices.
- Strengthen participant engagement, referral pathways, and community partnerships that promote recovery, successful reentry, family and community transformation.
- Oversee data collection, outcome measurement, grant reporting, program compliance, and continuous quality improvement efforts that demonstrate program effectiveness and advance organizational learning.
- Advance initiatives that address the intergenerational impacts of incarceration and substance use by fostering healing, restoration, accountability, and sustainable pathways to individual, family, and community transformation.
Policy, Legislation & Community Education
- Represent Damascus Way in community partnerships, coalitions, and public forums to advance Transformative Justice, recovery, reentry, family healing, and systems change.
