WCNO is seeking an experienced hands-on leader to help take the organization to the next level of growth. We’re looking for an executive director who is comfortable wearing many hats, working with limited resources and a small dedicated team while helping a multi-faceted organization grow into its potential. This position works closely with the Board of Directors to shape and execute the organization’s direction while staying grounded in the day-to-day realities of operating an organization.
Webber Camden Neighborhood Organization (WCNO) is a 501c3 nonprofit organization serving the Webber Camden community in North Minneapolis. WCNO is a city designated neighborhood organization led by a Board of Directors voted into office by the community who are all corporate members. The mission of WCNO is "Empowering Collaboration and Connection to Create a Thriving and Equitable Community for All". Current programs include Housing, Business, Safety, Youth and Community Building.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Proven leadership experience in the nonprofit sector.
- Experience building and executing strategies with an active board of directors and committees in a nonprofit organization.
- A track record with fundraising and donor cultivation; comfort building fundraising relationships and processes including research, writing and evaluation
- Proven ability to build and sustain strong relationships with community members, grassroots leaders, and partner organizations
- Solid financial acumen, including budgeting, with an understanding of nonprofit financial management fundamentals.
- Excellent communication and public speaking skills, with the ability to represent the organization to a wide range of audiences.
- Willingness to be hands-on across many functions balancing outcomes, time constraints and human resources.
- Lead development of organizational messaging frameworks, marketing strategies, campaigns, and continuity of communications to raise the organization’s visibility and community access to important information and involvement.
- Maintain an active understanding of the political, economic and national nonprofit environment to inform strategy.
- Anticipate and respond to emerging issues, risks, and opportunities in a dynamic environment.
