About

This Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing compassionate, quality, customer‑ and family‑focused care. The RN assesses, diagnoses, plans, implements, evaluates, and documents care of customers according to hospital and care center policies and standards of professional nursing practices. The RN is accountable for the quality of nursing services delivered, defines and improves practice standards and the environment of care, and promotes exceptional customer care.

Duties may vary based on the assigned customer care center, which may include differences in required clinical skills.

The transport RN provides quality nursing care, treatment, and stabilization of critically ill patients in cooperation with team members during transport. The transport RN oversees all aspects of patient care during transport and coordinates care as directed by the Advanced Practice Provider/Neonatologist for stabilization during transfer.

Requirements Education

Associate’s degree in nursing; bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred.

Experience

Internal Applicants

  • Minimum of 2 years Level III NICU experience
  • Maintain a work agreement of 0.75 FTE or greater
  • Minimum of 1 year of Resource experience
  • Compliance with transport weight policy: maximum weight of 215 pounds in full uniform

External Applicants

  • Minimum of 3 years Level III NICU experience
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience attending deliveries and providing immediate post‑resuscitative care
  • Compliance with transport weight policy: maximum weight of 215 pounds in full uniform
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain composure in high‑stress situations, act quickly in response to critical events
  • Solid PC skills, including Microsoft applications, Internet, etc.
  • Strong communication skills—able to express ideas clearly in written and oral form
  • Ability to handle conflict positively, with awareness and consideration of others’ needs and feelings
