About This PositionThe Registered Staff Nurse (RN) provides holistic care to customers and families, performing independent, collaborative, and delegated nursing functions. The scope of practice may include care of neonates, infants, children, young adults, adults, and older adults throughout the life cycle. Responsibilities include assessment, nursing diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation; developing and revising the customer’s plan of care; coordinating care among disciplines;
and delegating activities to other care providers.
- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing (required)
- Bachelor's degree in nursing (preferred)
- Minimum of 6 months acute care RN experience (required)
- OR willing to consider new graduates for 0.7 FTE positions or higher with an Associate degree, Bachelor of Science/Bachelor of Arts in Nursing (preferred); must be within 45 days of graduation
- Demonstrated leadership, verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Additional certification preferred, as appropriate, for chosen area(s) of nursing practice (e.g., CEN, CCRN)
- Knowledge of professional nursing principles and practice
- Knowledge of nursing ethics
- Current RN license in State of Minnesota (required)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification (pre‑employment requirement)
- NRP, TNCC, ACLS, etc. in applicable units (as applicable)
- Valid Class D driver’s license with acceptable driving record (as applicable)
- Other certifications (PALS, CEN, CCRN, CFRN, etc.) within 18 months of hire (as applicable)
