Perianesthesia Nursing Assistant (CNA)
Methodist Hospital is looking to hire a Perianesthesia Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our Perianesthesia team. The Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides direct patient care under the direction of a Registered Nurse, utilizing skills to complement other health care providers. The Nursing Assistant (CNA) works in all areas of Perianesthesia (Pre-op, Phase I/PACU, and Phase II/Discharge). Responsibilities include preparing patients for surgery (vital signs, point of care testing, skin preparation, documentation in Epic), assisting nurses during recovery (SCD machines, ambulation, assisting with dressing), and transporting patients post-operatively.
Responsibilities- Prepare patients for surgery and assist during recovery as directed by a Registered Nurse
- Monitor and document patient status, including vital signs and point of care testing
- Assist with patient transport and post-operative disposition
- Operate perioperative equipment as directed (e.g., SCD machines)
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to support patient care and safety
- Casual Position
- Must meet the requirement of the Casual NA at Methodist
- Certified Nursing Assistant and current on the State of Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry. All candidates must be current on the State of Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry or be an LPN student or a Jr. level nursing student, which means completion of first quarter clinicals with an accredited RN or LPN program.
