Job Overview
Fairview Health Services is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) on the Intermediate Care Float Pool at the M Health Fairview University of Minnesota Medical Center – West Bank Campus in Minneapolis, MN. The Intermediate Care Float Pool RN will provide care to medical surgical adult patients with sophisticated medical conditions that require close observation, monitoring, and interventions. This special department is a specialty group comprised of highly skilled experts that support patient care throughout the hospital.

0.75 FTE (60 hours every two weeks). Shift length is 12 hours on the Night shift with an every third weekend rotation (F,S,S) and a holiday rotation.

About Our IMC Float Pool Department- Our team is prepared to work with a variety of complex, high acuity adult patient diagnoses.
- You will float to General Med/Surg, Orthopedic Med/Surg, IMC, Acute Rehab Center, Transitional Care Unit, and the Emergency Department.

- Conducting ongoing assessments as determined by patient’s condition and/or the hospital policies, procedures or protocols and prioritizing care accordingly.
- Establishing and implementing nursing care plans for each patient through assessment, development, activation, evaluation, and discharge.
- Prioritizing, delegating, and maintaining oversight of duties and responsibilities of other staff members as a team leader.
- Maintaining confidentiality in matters related to patient, family, and facility.
- Demonstrating the ability to deliver care or service by adjusting approaches to reflect developmental level and cultural differences of populations served.
- Collaborating with patients, families, and health care team members.
- Associate Degree in Nursing
- Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Valid RN License from MN Board of Nursing
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required within 6 months of hire
- Minimum of 1 year Med/Surg Acute Care Experience
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher
- 1 year of Telemetry Experience
- 1 year of Peripheral IV start experience
- 1 year of Emergency Department, Intermediate, or Progressive Care Unit Experience
The posted compensation range corresponds to the minimum and maximum pay rates outlined in your union agreement for the respective job classifications at the time of job posting. An individual's pay rate within this range may be influenced by various factors, including FTE, skills, knowledge, educational background, and qualifying experience as specified in the contract.
