The Operating Room (OR) has 21 full-service OR suites capable of providing service for a variety of surgical specialties including General, Pediatric, Neurosurgical, Orthopedic / Podiatric, Ophthalmologic, Gynecological, Ear Nose and Throat, Oral / Maxillofacial, Dental, Reconstructive Plastic / Burn, Cardiovascular, Urologic, and Trauma. In addition to these major surgical areas we have two vascular access rooms and two minor surgery suites.
The OR, in combination with Vascular Access and Minor Surgery areas, performs over 11,000 surgical procedures per year totaling nearly 1,200,000 surgical minutes.
- Protecting, promoting, and optimizing health

- Partnering with the patient, their family and significant others
- Documenting interventions and an individualized plan of care
- 2 years of recent OR circulating experience as a RN (held a permanent OR position within the last 2 years).
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
- Possession of a valid license as a Registered Nurse issued by the State of Minnesota
- Certification in area of clinical specialty
- BSN Preferred. Bachelor of Nursing degree is strongly encouraged. Advancement in academic education will be discussed as part of individual professional development during the annual performance review.
