Nursing Assistant Med Surg

Job Summary

Allina Health is a not-for-profit health system that cares for individuals, families and communities throughout Minnesota and western Wisconsin. This position supports Renal Medsurg (e4100/w4400) with 12‑hour night shifts every other weekend.

• Assist RN in patient care, including feeding, bathing, dressing, grooming, and moving.
• Collect and document vital signs, temperature, pulse, respirations, blood pressure, weight, and intake/output.
• Provide personal comfort, maintain skin integrity, and assist with ambulation, transfer, positioning, and ROM.
• Implement fall‑prevention plan and observe, collect, document health status data as assigned.
• Transport medications (excluding controlled substances) and handle hazardous waste per procedures.
• Respond promptly to patient call lights for assigned and other patients.
• Distribute water, snacks, and patient trays; assist patients with grooming and hygiene needs.
• Maintain a safe environment for patients, visitors, and employees; report environmental risks or equipment malfunctions.

• Minimum age 18, or age 17 with high school diploma or GED.
• Successful completion of Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program, or one semester of clinical rotations in an accredited nursing program, or completion of Allina Health Nursing Assistant Academy Program, or previous direct patient care experience.
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or Allina in‑house BLS training within 30 days of hire.

Medium work: lifting up to 32 lbs. occasionally; up to 25 lbs. frequently. Work in all‑patient moving policy.

Pay Range: $21.33 to $27.78 per hour. Pay reflects base hourly range and may vary by experience, education, union agreement, shift differential, or weekend differential.
