Job SummaryThe Allina Health Cancer Institute (AHCI) is hiring an inpatient Hematology/Oncology Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our established oncology team in Minneapolis, MN. The role will manage solid tumor and hematology patients in an inpatient setting, with occasional weekend rounding, and will work with a multidisciplinary team including Hematologists, Oncologists, and Advanced Practice Providers.
Key Position DetailsFull-time 1.0 FTE, Monday - Friday business hours, 8 hour shifts, 40 hours per week. Non‑Union; occasional weekend rotation.
Responsibilities- Provide clinical care for patients, including comprehensive assessments.
- Determine diagnosis and treatment of illness; order and interpret diagnostics in tandem with attending physician.
- Prescribe medications, treatments, therapy and medical equipment.
- Conduct patient education and refer to specialty care when needed.
- Consult with physicians when decisions outside provider scope are required.
- Participate in health‑care team communication, act as resource, and collaborate with hospital staff via consulting and rounding.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Master’s degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
- New graduates may be considered; preferred minimum 2 years oncology experience.
- Registered Nurse (RN) – Minnesota Board of Nursing (required upon hire).
- Certified Nurse Practitioner – ANCC or Certified Physician Assistant – NCCPA (within specialty, required upon hire).
- MN NP/PA license required upon hire.
- BLS Tier 2 – Multisource required within 180 days.
- Drug Enforcement Administration credential required upon hire.
Medium physical demands; lifting up to 32 lbs occasionally, up to 25 lbs frequently.
Pay Range$135,096 to $164,216 per year (starting base pay for full‑time FTE; final rate based on experience, education, and applicable union agreement).
