The Minnesota Veterans Home - Minneapolis recognizes the great courage of the individuals who fought for our freedom. Our facility has been providing care to Veterans since 1887. Our beautiful and historic campus is located on 51 wooded acres overlooking the Mississippi River. We provide skilled care, boarding care, adult day care, and transitional housing for veterans. Deliver licensed practical nursing (LPN) care within the LPN scope of practice, as defined by the Minnesota Nurse Practice Act, for cognitively and physically disabled residents. Work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team to promote the well‑being, health and safety of residents in a person‑centered, long‑term care environment. The night hours for this position are 10:30 pm–7:00 am.

Minimum Qualifications: Licensed in Minnesota as a Practical Nurse, in good standing.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience working in a long‑term care environment.

Perform a variety of movements throughout the day such as walking, standing, sitting, bending, twisting, stooping, lifting, carrying, reaching, grasping, pushing and pulling.

• A Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) background check will be conducted on all finalists for this position. Finalists must pass the DHS background check.
• Finalists will be required to pass a job‑related pre‑employment physical.
• Tuberculosis (Mantoux) screening (or chest x‑ray) is required prior to employment.
• Employment reference checks will be conducted on all finalists. This may include a review of documentation related to job performance and contact with former employer(s).
