The Informatics Nurse delivers informatics solutions from planning through full adoption, designs and implements systems, bridges clinical and operational departments, and coordinates change management by revising workflows and standardizing policies. The role aligns with the ANA Scope and Standards of Nursing Informatics Practice and the ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses.
Informatics Nurse Specialist (PG 142)The Informatics Nurse Specialist provides leadership, consultation, and direction for information technology affecting clinical nursing information management from planning through evaluation. Responsibilities include designing and implementing informatics solutions, serving as a liaison between Nursing and institutional groups, and leading change management efforts.
Informatics Clinician (PG 137)The Informatics Clinician delivers informatics solutions from planning through full adoption, designs and implements systems, serves as a bridge across departments, and coordinates change management, including revising workflows and standardizing policies.
Informatics Clinician SpecialistThe Informatics Clinician Specialist provides leadership, consultation, and direction for information technology impacting clinical information management from planning through evaluation. The role focuses on designing and implementing informatics solutions, bridging clinical departments and institutional groups, and enhancing patient care.
Qualifications Informatics Nurse- Graduate of a Baccalaureate program accredited by ACEN or CCNE; if not, at least one year of RN experience within the last five years.
- Minimum three years of clinical experience in healthcare preferred.
- Computer literacy with strong knowledge of software applications.
- Experience training or teaching others.
- Strong project leadership, organization, and planning skills.
- Effective written and oral communication.
- Epic Certified or proficiency required within six months of hire.
- Current RN licensure in the applicable state.
- Master’s degree in Nursing or Bachelor’s with a Master’s in a healthcare‑related field.
- Minimum three years of clinical experience in healthcare preferred.
- Advanced knowledge and competence in Nursing Informatics.
- Project management experience preferred.
- Experience training or teaching others.
- Computer literacy with strong knowledge of software applications.
- Epic Certified or proficiency required within six months of hire.
- Current RN licensure in the applicable state.
- ANCC National certification in Nursing Informatics highly recommended within two years of hire.
