Job Summary

Allina Health seeks a Registered Nurse to provide surgical emergency care in the operating room. The role requires planning, coordinating, and evaluating patient care, engaging in evidence‑based practice, and ensuring safe, effective surgical environments.

• Shift: Day/Evening, 10‑hour shifts, 40 hours per week
• Rotation:
  Occasional weekends
• Full time equivalent: 1.0 FTE (80 hours per two‑week pay period)

• Comprehensive assessment of patient and family needs
• Establish outcomes, plan of care, and modify as needed
• Maintain education and competencies for high‑quality patient care
• Incorporate evidence‑based practice and regulatory standards
• Collaborate with family and patients to set realistic, measurable outcomes
• Coordinate, collaborate, and delegate appropriately to ensure safe, effective care
• Fulfill all organizational requirements

• Charge Nurse – coordinate, delegate, and direct unit operations when acting in this role
• Preceptor – identify orientee learning needs, plan learning experiences, validate clinical competence

• Associate’s or Vocational degree; RN experience
• Completion or in‑process of completing an approved Periop 101 program
• Bachelor’s degree OR experience preferred
• Licensed Registered Nurse – MN Board of Nursing or WI Department of Safety & Professional Services required upon hire
• Must meet at least one of the following certifications:
  • Current ACLS certification (American Heart Association)
  • Current ALS certification (American Red Cross)
  • Allina in‑house ACLS training (within 60 days)
  • Current BLS certification (American Heart Association or American Red Cross) within 30 days of hire
  • Allina in‑house BLS training (within 30 days of hire)
  • CNOR Certified Nurse Operating Room preferred

Medium. Requires lifting up to 32 lbs. occasionally and up to 25 lbs. frequently (Allina Safe Patient Moving Policy).

$44.64 to $74.33 per hour, varying by experience, education, union agreement, and shift differentials.
