The Minnesota Veterans Home in Minneapolis seeks compassionate Licensed Practical Nurses to deliver person‑centered care in a long‑term nursing facility. LPNs will assist residents with activities of daily living, apply nursing protocols, and ensure safety and quality of care.
Responsibilities- Provide compassionate, person‑centered care for residents in a long‑term nursing facility.
- Assist with activities of daily living and ensure residents maintain the highest functional capabilities.
- Ensure safety and quality of care is provided, documenting accurately and maintaining clear nursing notes.
- Participate in incident reporting, care planning, and interdisciplinary team meetings as required.
- Licensed in Minnesota as a Practical Nurse with no restrictions, in good standing.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross, or ability to obtain certification by date of hire.
- Computer skills sufficient to complete electronic charting, specifically in Point Click Care .
- Effective communication skills, ability to follow instructions, and keep clear and accurate documentation.
- Experience in a skilled nursing facility, long‑term care, or other senior healthcare environment.
- Experience working with Veterans.
- Effective interpersonal skills in establishing and maintaining positive working relationships.
- Employment reference checks will be conducted on finalists.
- A Tuberculosis (Mantoux) screening (or chest x‑ray) is required prior to employment.
- An optional Minnesota Department of Human Services background check may be conducted on finalists; successful completion is required for those selected.
