Department Overview
Our Minneapolis neonatal float team is an integral part of nursing services provided within our neonatal community – from the special care nursery up through our level III and level IV neonatal intensive care units. The team applies specific skill sets across departments and provides additional resources as needs arise. PositionSummary
Coordinates and provides family‑centered nursing care to infants, children and adolescents, utilizing the nursing process. Accountable for professional practice including independent nursing functions and delegated medical functions performed in collaboration with other health team members.
THIS IS AN MNA CONTRACT POSITION.
Education RequirementsGraduate of an accredited school of nursing, current Minnesota RN licensure, and current BLS certification.
Qualifications- One (1) year experience (within the last 2 years) working with a specialized patient population (e.g., float NICU). Pediatric experience preferred.
- Based upon the unit in which you are applying, additional certification(s) may be required; department‑specific qualifications to be obtained within 6 months of employment.
- Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required or obtained during orientation.
Physical demands for this role are in keeping with typical nursing responsibilities in a neonatal setting (e.g., patient transfer, equipment setup, and extended periods of standing or walking).
Compensation & BenefitsThe posted salary represents a market‑competitive range based on salary survey benchmark data for similar roles. In addition to salary, this position may be eligible for medical, dental, vision, retirement, and other fringe benefits. Positions that require night, weekend, or on‑call work may be eligible for shift differentials or premium pay.
