This position provides professional registered nurse services in a long‑term care, skilled nursing care facility. The RN will assess residents’ needs, recommend appropriate nursing interventions, implement orders and routines, and deliver skilled nursing care. The RN may also coordinate, delegate, and review the work of other nursing staff members.

The position is a full‑time, primarily evening shift vacancy with at least 80 hours per 2‑week pay period and may include additional hours based on business needs.

Responsibilities
  • Assess residents’ needs and nursing requirements.
  • Recommend and implement nursing interventions and practices.
  • Execute orders, routines, and daily health care plans.
  • Provide direct skilled nursing care and assist with therapeutic activities.
  • Coordinate and delegate tasks among nursing staff.
  • Review and evaluate the effectiveness of nursing care performed by others.
  • Maintain accurate electronic charting in Point Click Care .
Minimum Qualifications
  • Licensed in Minnesota as a Registered Nurse with no restrictions and in good standing.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification through the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or ability to be certified by hire date.
  • Effective communication skills, sufficient to provide and follow instructions and teach skills to residents.
  • Computer skills sufficient to complete electronic charting, specifically in Point Click Care .
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in a skilled nursing facility, long term care or other senior healthcare environment.
  • Experience working with Veterans population.
  • Ability to evaluate nursing care from other staff, recommend changes, and provide mentoring.
  • Knowledge of nursing practices and techniques sufficient to provide effective care and make decisions within the nursing scope of practice.
  • Effective interpersonal skills for establishing and maintaining positive working relationships.
  • Experience with Minimum Data Set (MDS) assessments.
Additional Requirements
  • Possibility of a Minnesota Department of Human Services background check for top finalists; must pass if conducted.
  • Required tuberculosis (Mantoux) screening or chest x‑ray prior to employment.
  • Employment reference checks for finalists, reviewing documentation related to job performance.
