American Traveler is hiring an Oncology Chemo Certified RN for an infusion position requiring 1+ year of specialty experience and chemotherapy certification.
Details- Position within a Magnet-designated, teaching, Level III Trauma acute care hospital
- Oncology Infusion RN role with floating between multiple hospital locations within the health system
- Patient ratio of 1:6
- Day shift schedule, 5x8-hour shifts from 8:00am-4:30pm
- No weekend requirements
- No on-call requirements
- Block scheduling accommodations available
- Uses Epic/Excellian charting system
- Active MN RN license required (pending license accepted)
- BLS certification required
- Chemotherapy certification required (ONS/ONCC)
- OCN certification preferred
- Minimum 1 year of oncology infusion experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Charge nurse experience preferred
- Epic/Excellian charting experience required
- Skilled in IV therapy, port access/management, and central line care
- Experience administering chemotherapy via continuous infusion and IV push
- Knowledge of biotherapy and immunotherapy administration
- Ability to recognize and manage chemotherapy side effects and oncologic emergencies
- Experience caring for patients with various cancer diagnoses including breast, lung, colorectal, and hematologic malignancies
- Proficient in isolation precautions, neutropenic precautions, and phlebotomy
- Provide direct patient care including chemotherapy administration, symptom management, and monitoring for oncologic emergencies
- Float between multiple hospital campuses within scope of practice to meet facility needs
- Navy blue scrubs required
- Candidates must reside at least 100 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
- First-time travelers are not accepted for this role
- Returning staff must have been separated from perm employment for at least 3 months prior to starting
- RTO should ideally be no more than 5 days
- One supervisor reference is required for consideration
