Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Oncology Infusion RN with chemo certification for a fast-paced infusion role requiring floating between multiple hospital locations.

Details
  • Work in the Oncology Chemo Certified unit within an Infusion Center, Inpatient Oncology, and Outpatient Oncology settings
  • Patient ratio of 1:6
  • Day shift schedule: 5x8 hours, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
  • No weekend requirements
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • Required to float between multiple hospital locations to meet facility needs
  • Open to accommodating block scheduling
  • Uses Epic/Excellian charting system
Requirements
  • Active MN RN license required (pending license accepted)
  • Current BLS and Chemo certification (ONS/ONCC) required; OCN certification preferred
  • Minimum 1 year of oncology infusion experience required
  • 2 years of nursing experience preferred
  • Previous charge nurse experience preferred
  • Prior travel nursing experience required
  • Epic/Excellian charting experience required
  • Skilled in IV therapy, infusions, port access/management, central line care, and chemotherapy administration
  • Experience recognizing and managing chemotherapy side effects and oncologic emergencies
  • Knowledge of care for patients with various cancer diagnoses including breast, lung, colorectal, and blood cancers
  • Proficient in isolation precautions, neutropenic precautions, and phlebotomy skills
  • Must provide date of birth, SSN, copy of certifications, and Nursys verification for consideration
  • At least one supervisor reference required for consideration
Additional Information
  • Provide oncology infusion nursing care including chemotherapy administration, port and central line management, and symptom management
  • Facility is a Magnet-designated, teaching hospital with Level III Trauma status and 672 staffed beds
  • Navy blue scrubs required
  • Must reside at least 100 miles from the facility to be considered, with no local candidates accepted
  • First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
  • Returning employees must have a gap of at least 3 months since their last shift worked as perm staff or per diem
  • RTO ideally limited to no more than 5 days during the assignment
  • Certification does not need to be in hand but must be obtained within 30 days of starting the contract
  • Pre-start modules are required prior to beginning the assignment
