The Registered Nurse – NICU cares for newborn babies who are delivered pre-term or at-term newborns who experience complications at the time of birth. The Registered Nurse – NICU provides intensive around-the-clock care, including both medical needs and basic daily care activities.

Requirements:
Graduate of accredited school of nursing
, MN RN license or MN Temp Permit-RN
, BLS cert,
NRP cert, and 2 yrs NICU nursing experience which includes ability to care for infants requiring: assisted ventilation including high frequency ventilator (JET and Oscillator), conventional vents, and non-invasive methods (bubble CPAP, RAM cannula, HFNC (high flow nasal cannula), pre and post op care of critically ill newborns (including those with trachs), pre-term infants including ELBW (extremely low birth weight) population, strong knowledge of developmental care is expected.
Responsibilities:
Coordinate and provide family-centered nursing care to infants, children, and adolescents, utilizing the nursing process. Accountable for professional practice including independent nursing functions and delegated medical functions performed in collaboration with other health team members.
Minimum Requirements:
- Current Registered Nurse license for the state in which the nurse practices
- One year NICU experience required
- NRP card per contract requirement
- Current CPR if applicable
- TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
- Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
- Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
