Job Summary

The Withdrawal Management Nurse Manager is responsible for overseeing nursing services within the Withdrawal Management Program in accordance with Minnesota Statutes, Chapter 245F . This role provides leadership, supervision, and clinical oversight of nursing operations to ensure withdrawal management services are delivered safely, effectively, and in compliance with applicable state and federal regulations. The Nurse Manager is responsible for the implementation and oversight of nursing practices, delegated medical care, medication management processes, staff competency, and client health monitoring activities to support medically appropriate withdrawal management services.

The Nursing Manager collaborates with the Director of Nursing, Medical Director, Director of Withdrawal Management Services, and interdisciplinary treatment team to support clinical operations, regulatory compliance, quality assurance activities, and the delivery of safe, person-centered care.

• The Nursing Manager serves as the designated registered nurse for the program or assists in ensuring registered nurse consultation is available 24 hours per day in accordance with Minnesota Statutes Chapter 245F.
• Provide leadership and oversight of nursing services within the licensed Withdrawal Management program.
• Supervise, develop, and provide leadership to assigned nursing staff within the Withdrawal Management program.
• Manage and respond to the medical needs of clients receiving Withdrawal Management services, ensuring timely access to nursing care, health monitoring, and medical support.
• Conduct nursing assessments, monitor client health status, identify clients requiring enhanced medical monitoring or intervention, and ensure appropriate response to withdrawal-related complications and other health concerns.
• Develop, implement, oversee, and periodically evaluate nursing care and delegated medical care systems, including health monitoring, medication management, staff competency evaluation, infection control, first aid readiness, and emergency medical response processes in accordance with Minnesota Statutes Chapter 245F.
• Collaborate with the Medical Director regarding standing orders, condition-specific protocols, delegated medical care, medication-assisted withdrawal management practices, and client safety initiatives.

Regulatory Compliance & Quality Assurance

• Ensure compliance with Minnesota Statutes Chapter 245F, Minnesota Board of Nursing requirements, Department of Human Services regulations, and organizational policies.
• Oversee and evaluate medication management processes, medication storage, inventory controls, medication administration practices, and medication control plan compliance.
• Ensure nursing documentation is completed accurately, timely, and in accordance with clinical, regulatory, and organizational requirements.
• Participate in quality assurance activities, client safety initiatives, critical incident reviews, audits, licensing reviews, and regulatory inspections.
• Responsible for the destruction and disposal of medications in accordance with applicable regulations and organizational procedures.
