Pay: $4,228/week
Role Overview
Join the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit providing specialized critical care for infants, children, and adolescents with life-threatening illnesses and complex medical conditions. This position requires strong pediatric critical care experience and the ability to care for post-operative surgical, trauma, and cardiac patients in a high-acuity environment.
Required Experience
- Minimum 18 months to 2 years of recent PICU experience required
- Experience caring for pre-operative and immediate post-operative PICU surgical patients
- Experience caring for pediatric trauma patients
- Pediatric CVICU experience accepted if competent with cardiac surgical and procedural patients
- Strong pediatric critical care assessment and intervention skills
- Ability to function effectively in high-acuity crisis situations
Requirements
- Minnesota RN License (Not needed to submit)
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- BLS certification
- PALS certification
- ACLS preferred
- NRP preferred
- Demonstrated PICU clinical competency
- Must be at least 18 years of age
Additional Details
- 6 openings available
- 48-hour guaranteed contract (1.2 FTE)
- Every other weekend required
- No call requirement
- Must be willing to float between Minneapolis and St. Paul campuses as needed
- Charting system:
Epic - Phone interview conducted by the unit manager
- Patient ratios typically 1:1 to 1:2
- Royal blue scrub bottoms with kid-friendly or plain scrub tops
- Timekeeping through Kronos and paper timecards
- Facility may cancel up to 24 hours during the assignment
- File due Monday prior to start date
