Position Overview

As the Director of Quality, you will own the entire quality function ding our Compliance, Quality Control, and Sanitation teams to ensure every bottle reflects our commitment to excellence. Reporting to the Cofounder and Chief Brewing Officer, you’ll sit at the head of the quality department, driving quality systems that scale with our growth. This is a hands‑on leadership role: you’ll be on the floor as much as in meetings, and you’ll have direct influence on how we build, maintain, and continuously improve the systems behind a Five Star Product.

Key Responsibilities
  • Quality System Ownership: Own and continuously improve Bizzy’s quality management system, including SQF, HACCP, and GFSI compliance.
  • Food Safety & Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with FDA, USDA Organic, SQF, and all applicable regulatory requirements. Lead third‑party, internal, and supplier audits. Maintain audit‑readiness as a standard, not an event.
  • Plant & People Safety: Own the facility safety program. Collaborate with Operations and HR to design and implement safety training, protocols, and a safety‑first culture that minimizes risk to people and plant.
  • Team Leadership (LMA): Lead, manage, and hold accountable the team, embodying the Dream Team mindset through transparent communication, coaching, and development.
  • Cross‑Functional

    Collaboration:

Partner closely with Marketing, Operations, Supply Chain, and Procurement to embed quality in every step of the process.
  • Supplier Quality Management: Set and maintain stringent incoming material quality standards. Lead supplier audits, corrective actions, and qualification processes in partnership with Procurement.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify and execute process improvements in manufacturing, sanitation, and quality control. Use data (Red Zone, lab results, audit findings) to drive decisions and measurable outcomes.
  • Sanitation Program Oversight: Oversee the master sanitation program, chemical control, and environmental monitoring. Ensure sanitation execution aligns with SQF and food safety requirements.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain robust quality documentation systems. Develop KPI dashboards and reporting cadences that give leadership visibility into quality performance, trends, and risks.
  • Training & Development: Build and deliver training programs that instill a culture of quality and food safety across the entire organization, not just the quality team.
