Help Build Aerospace Products That Meet the Highest Standards in the Industry
As a Quality Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring our aerospace and defense products meet exacting customer requirements, regulatory standards, and internal quality expectations. You'll be a key driver of product integrity-supporting manufacturing, inspection, and testing processes from new product introduction through production. This role gives you direct influence on product quality, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement across the operation.
You'll collaborate closely with engineering, manufacturing, and customers to solve problems, prevent defects, and strengthen our quality systems-all while building expertise in highly regulated aerospace environments.
What You'll Do
Own quality from launch through production
* Develop and implement quality plans for new product introduction, including PPAP, FMEA, work instructions, and process validations
* Support engineering change activities and ensure seamless integration of customer and regulatory requirements
* Validate manufacturing processes to ensure consistent, high-quality output
Be the voice of quality with customers
* Communicate directly with customers via email and conference calls to resolve quality issues and provide updates
* Serve as a trusted quality representative during customer audits and technical reviews
* Act as customer release authority upon certification completion
Drive problem-solving and continuous improvement
* Lead and support root cause and corrective action (RCCA) efforts for internal and external quality issues
* Monitor scrap, nonconformance, and improvement initiatives through daily operational meetings
* Authorize corrective actions, returned goods (RGA), and process improvements
Ensure compliance and control
* Review and approve purchase orders and product documentation for compliance
* Ensure adherence to quality management systems, customer specifications, and government regulations
* Maintain accuracy, documentation control, and audit readiness across all quality processes
Partner across the organization
* Participate in daily stand-ups, RCCA reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives
* Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and leadership teams to drive solutions
* Support special projects and initiatives that improve product quality and operational performance
This position is based at our Bloomington facility and requires onsite presence.
What Success Looks Like
In this role, success means:
* High accuracy and integrity of quality documentation and decisions
* Strong on-time execution of quality deliverables and customer commitments
* Full compliance with QMS, regulatory, and customer requirements
* Responsive and effective communication with customers and internal teams
* Completion of structured training and certification requirements to build full role proficiency
Who You'll Work With
You'll be an integral part of the Quality organization, working closely with:
* Senior Customer Program Manager
* Quality Manager
* Director of Quality
* Cross-functional engineering, manufacturing, and operations teams
What You Bring
Education
* Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical field preferred
Experience
* 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment (aerospace/regulated industry experience preferred)
Skills & Attributes
* Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking
* Ability to communicate clearly with customers and cross-functional teams
* Experience working with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
* Ability to navigate complex technical and quality issues collaboratively
* Commitment to accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement
Why This Role Is Exciting
This is more than a compliance-focused quality role-it's a chance to:
* Work on aerospace and defense components that require precision and excellence
* Be directly involved in customer-facing quality decisions
* Gain exposure to advanced quality systems (PPAP, FMEA, RCCA, audits)
* Influence manufacturing outcomes and product performance
* Build certifications and expertise valued across the aerospace industry
What We Offer ?
