General FunctionThe Quality Auditor I is responsible for inspecting production and finished product lenses, ensuring compliance with quality standards, and advising production supervisors to maintain product integrity.
Major Duties and Responsibilities- Read and interpret Lensometer results, verifying lens measurements and finding discrepancies.
- Understand customers’ prescription requirements and interpret production work tickets generated by laboratory software.
- Apply comprehensive knowledge of surface and finish activities to perform “First‑Quality” inspections on product cosmetics and alignment.
- Recognize and communicate special or unique requirements of specific laboratory customers.
- Serve as a quality advisor to production supervisors, lab management, and Regional Operations Manager.
- Troubleshoot production problems to achieve acceptable quality and service levels.
- Ensure compliance with Network Operations Uniform Processing System procedures, including calibration, prescription cosmetics, form and fit of the product, and other relevant policies.
- Maintain a neat, clean, and organized work area.
- Follow all company and manufacturer policies and procedures, including attendance and safety rules.
- Assist colleagues to keep work current and balance workload, demonstrating a good attitude and performing required quantity and quality of work on time.
- Provide training, direction, and technical guidance to less experienced employees. Attend in‑house or sponsored training meetings when necessary.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Handle hazardous substances/chemicals safely, as required.
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum 3 years of production experience.
- Knowledge of ANSI standards applicable to eyewear.
- Visual acuity of 20/40 or better in the near vision with or without corrective prescription eyewear.
- Ability to lift or move up to 25 pounds.
