Job Description

The Quality Technician ensures consistent adherence to the quality management system by performing detailed inspections, maintaining accurate documentation, and promoting a strong culture of quality and safety. This role supports in‑process, final, and receiving inspections, collaborates closely with cross‑functional teams, and contributes to continuous improvement in manufacturing quality and workmanship standards.

Responsibilities

+ Perform and support in‑process inspections to verify product quality during manufacturing.

+ Conduct final quality control inspections to ensure finished products meet all specifications and requirements.

+ Carry out receiving inspections to confirm that incoming materials and components conform to quality standards.

+ Review and maintain First Article Inspections (FAIs), control plans, and all related inspection documentation.

+ Ensure strict adherence to the established quality management system and departmental procedures.

+ Promote and champion a strong quality culture across the organization, helping build an engaged and quality‑focused department.

+ Support and maintain awareness of all safety policies and procedures, following them consistently in daily work.

+ Interpret and work with engineering drawings, specifications, inspection requirements, and work instructions.

+ Apply general dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) principles to inspection activities to verify dimensional accuracy.

+ Use statistical process methods and tools to support manufacturing process control and quality improvement.

+ Operate mechanical inspection equipment such as micrometers, calipers, drop gauges, and pin gauges to perform precise measurements.

+ Program and utilize optical metrology systems, with experience in Keyence and OGP systems preferred.

+ Effectively use microscopes (10-40x) to identify workmanship defects and surface irregularities.

+ Maintain strong documentation practices to ensure accurate, complete, and traceable inspection records.

+ Communicate effectively and collaborate with production, engineering, and other teams to resolve quality issues and drive improvements.

Essential Skills

+ Minimum of 3+ years of experience in a quality role within a manufacturing or similar environment.

+ Associate's degree or equivalent education in a relevant field.

+ Hands‑on experience in quality control, quality assurance, and quality inspection activities.

+ Proficiency with mechanical inspection equipment, including micrometers, calipers, drop gauges, and pin gauges.

+ Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and inspection requirements.

+ Understanding of general dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) principles and their application to inspection.

+ Basic knowledge of statistical process methods, tools, and their application to manufacturing process control.

+ Experience programming and using optical metrology systems, with Keyence and OGP preferred.

+ Ability to use microscopes (10-40x) to identify workmanship defects.

+ Strong documentation skills to maintain accurate and organized inspection records.

+ Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to collaborate across teams.

+ Commitment to following safety policies and procedures in all work activities.
