Job Description: The 2nd Shift CLT is responsible for the quality and integrity of the products being received as well as manufactured. The CLT performs routine QA tests in the laboratory and on the packaging floor by following written directions and procedures while maintaining accurate up to date records of all work performed to assure product and packaging quality.
MajorJob Duties
- Perform process, finished product and raw material tests including % moisture, % oil, % salt, FFA of oil, and finished product defect analysis using methods such as manual titration, moisture analysis, bench top Near Infrared (NIR) analysis, Dicromat II analysis, and other specified methods.
- Perform Laboratory Round checks such as verifying seal integrity, proper packaging & seasoning, code dates and printed prices, and weights.
- Perform Metal Detector tests.
- Place product on hold and complete all deviation and hold paperwork by end of shift.
- Verify incoming materials (seasonings, salt, oil, corn, popcorn, corn meal, packaging, etc.) and assemble documentation according to written procedure.
- Perform retained product analysis.
- Inspect equipment following cleaning.
- Perform tests for seal integrity (visual and water tank).
- Inform supervisor of any issue that may compromise the food safety or quality of the product in a timely manner.
- Record and/or enter test results into the computer as required by testing performed.
- Maintain a clean and safe laboratory environment.
- Perform roll stock change and product changeover verifications to ensure quality standards are met.
- Keep meticulous records and follow the written record‑keeping and documentation program.
- May be responsible for additional special projects under the supervision of the QA Manager.
- May be required to review, organize, file and/or update documentation in support of the Quality program.
- May be assigned to other duties as required by Management.
- Walk and stand continuously for the full work shift (up to 12 hours per day).
- Ability to climb stairs occasionally.
- Accurately complete and record test results.
- Reach and grab occasionally.
- Lift and carry 20 lbs. occasionally.
- Work safely around moving machinery.
- Effective written and verbal communication with other team members and supervisors.
- Follow written and verbal directions.
- Work cautiously on slippery floors.
- Work in noise – wear hearing protection.
- Basic computer skills.
- Detail oriented.
- Ability to work 40 hours per 5‑day week and overtime during the week and on the weekend as needed.
- Complete required quality checks within the allotted time frame.
- Dependable attendance.
- Adhere to relevant health and safety procedures.

Qualifications Experience PreferredPrevious experience working in a laboratory and manufacturing environment. Experience working with quality systems such as SQF. Good mathematics skills and basic computer skills. Working knowledge of HACCP. High School Degree or GED equivalent. Prefer 2 or 4 year postgraduate degree from an accredited science program.
