Summary

ATS is seeking Level II Radiographers and Level I RT Shooters to support our customer in Minneapolis, MN. This is a temporary contract assignment expected to last 6‑12 months working 5‑10’s in a fast‑paced production environment with competitive pay and per diem. NAS‑410 Castings X‑ray experience is required and experience with aluminum and mag materials is preferred.

Responsibilities for Level I RT Shooters
  • Utilize NDT testing equipment for radiographic inspections.
  • Perform tasks as directed to prepare components or equipment for inspections.
  • Work alongside certified technicians to help complete projects and learn activities.
  • Interface with personnel to determine scope of work and work priorities to meet customer expectations.
  • Help clean and organize equipment before, during, and at the completion of shifts.
  • Document on‑job training experience if required, as assigned by management.
  • Perform other job‑related tasks as assigned by supervisors.
Responsibilities for Level II Radiographers
  • Perform RT examinations of materials in accordance with procedures, codes, standards, and specifications.
  • Set up and utilize NDT testing equipment for radiographic inspections.
  • Be thoroughly familiar with the scope and limitations of the methods; qualified and exercise assigned responsibility for OJT and guidance of trainees.
  • Interface with department managers and clients to determine scope of work and work priorities to meet customer expectations.
  • Prepare written instructions and organize/report results of examinations.
  • Work independently and support team members.
  • Perform other job‑related tasks as needed and assigned by supervisors.
  • Actively participate in ATS and client safety programs.
Qualifications
  • Level I Radiographers – Must meet the minimum requirements of an NDT RT Level I per NAS‑410, be able to use computers for data entry and report writing, and have documented formal RT classroom training.
  • Level II Radiographers – Must meet the minimum requirements of an NDT Level II RT Technician per NAS‑410, provide documentation of education, training and experience in the applicable NDT method(s), possess a working knowledge of industrial environments and general manufacturing processes, and be able to communicate effectively with other departments and customers to report issues and solve problems.
  • Documented experience with film required; additional experience with DR and/or CR X‑ray imaging and processing preferred.
  • Experience inspecting castings or similar components per NAS‑410 is required.
  • Completion of a 40‑hour radiation safety course required.
  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must pass a drug screen and possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Work Conditions
  • Must be able to wear safety equipment as required by the safety department for personal protection.
  • Work from heights on scaffolding, ladders, elevated platforms, man‑baskets, etc.
  • Work in confined spaces, which may require crawling, stooping, climbing, etc.
  • Work in or around operating equipment and industrial environments.
  • Work with radiation and hazardous materials such as cleaners, penetrants, film developing chemicals, etc.
  • Shifts up to 12 hours/day and 7 days/week; scheduled to be 5‑10’s with possible overtime.
  • Ability to lift and carry 100 pounds.
