  • Responsible for conducting testing procedures during manufacturing processes to ensure that products comply with quality standards.
  • Quality Supervisors are involved in the entire course of manufacturing. They may inspect components before production begins, analyze trial products during development, or test finished goods prior to shipping
  • Responsible for executing on all ISO Quality Systems. FDA, UL, and other systems or regulatory requirements.
  • Supervises Day to Day tasks
Safety
  • Strictly follows safety policies, procedures, rules and work methods.
  • Promptly reports injuries for timely diagnosis and medical treatment.
  • Makes practical safety suggestions to support continuous improvements in safety
Responsibilities
  • Interpret geometric dimensioning and tolerancing frames and translate into inspection program output to ensure manufactured products meet internal engineering and customer dimensional specifications.
  • May assist with programming CMM’s and visual inspection equipment to efficiently and effectively inspect a wide variety of parts.
  • May assist with training and technical support for colleagues in laboratory (CMM programming, dimensional measurements, and interpretation of GD&T)
  • Drive continuous improvement projects within the metrology group designed to improve operational efficiencies.
  • Plays active role on quality management teams within organization.
  • Develops and analyzes statistical data and product specifications to determine present standards and establish proposed quality and reliability expectancy of finished product.
  • Formulates and maintains quality control objectives complementary to corporate policies and goals.
  • Creates and implements inspection criteria and procedures.
  • Interprets and relays quality control philosophy to key personnel in organization.
  • Provides inspection activity for product throughout production cycle.
  • Applies total quality management tools and approaches to analytical and reporting processes within each department.
  • Works with production workers engaged in inspection and testing activities to ensure continuous control over materials, facilities, and products.
  • Works with suppliers to ensure quality of all purchased parts and processes for company use.
  • Plays active role on quality management teams within organization.
  • Designs and implements quality control training programs to key personnel in conjunction with managers.
  • Investigates and adjusts customer complaints regarding quality.
  • Reviews quality issues and technical problems and procedures of departments and recommends solutions to problems or changes in procedures.
  • Provides a process/technical resource to resolve quality related issues.
  • Visits and confers with representatives of material, process, and component vendors to obtain information and relay requirements related to supply quality, and vendor quality standards.
  • Confers with engineers about quality assurance requirements for new products being designed and manufactured and products currently being manufactured.
  • Stay current with quality certification requirements and review technical publications, articles, and data to stay abreast of technical developments.
  • Maintain quality records.
  • Reviews Discrepant Material Reports, Engineering Change Requests, Returned Goods Authorizations, and Corrective Action Requests for proper response and maintenance as quality records.
  • Processes customer returns and maintains job routings as required.
  • Assures and maintains the integrity of the inspection, measuring, and test equipment calibration system.
  • Implement various quality SPC metrics as needed/required to help ensure quality processes/products.
  • Comply with safety rules as outlined in Safety Manual.
  • Comply with the requirements of the ISO Quality Management System and departmental procedures, and work-instructions.
Qualifications
  • 5 years previous Quality management experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • 3 years in a metal manufacturing including metal stamping or fabrication
  • Ability to manage a team of professionals to carry out department goals
  • Ability to interpret metrics, financials and budgets
  • 3-5 years, a combination of education and experience with on the job training.
