Postdoctoral Research Fellow, Research Scientist
Overview
Hours: Hourly; employee cannot work for more than 67 days per calendar year.
Overview: Provides research support in a water quality laboratory setting under the direction of Professor Paige Novak. Employees will assist a postdoctoral researcher with their research on emerging contaminant degradation. Employees will work closely with graduate students and/or post-doctoral research associates.
Job Duties90% Laboratory Assistant
- Assist post-doctoral researcher with research on emerging contaminant degradation
- Assist post-doctoral researcher with sample preparation
- Collecting samples, making solutions, keeping biological reactors going
- Wash glassware and other laboratory materials.
10% Adhoc duties as assigned
- All other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
- High school student
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ability to follow explicit directions and to quickly learn laboratory techniques
- General interest in academic scientific research of water quality
- Patience, dedication, flexibility, and enthusiasm.

Pay Range: $15.25- $16.00 per hour; depending on education/qualifications/experience.
