SummaryThe Research Associate (RA) supports the ongoing needs of clinical research trials, research databases and other research projects in support of the Minneapolis Heart Institute Foundation (MHIF) mission. This position will be responsible for collecting and entering patient data into study data systems. The RA may also assist with general administrative support.
Primary Responsibilities- Identify, collect, interpret, and register clinical trial data from medical records and other source documents.
- Enter study required data into electronic or paper Case Report Forms (CRFs), registries, and local data systems (e.g., EDC, Florence, Real Time, EPIC).
- With supervision, make patient contacts to collect study required data and/or consent patients for participation in registry or other minimal risk clinical studies.
- Complete study specific imaging transfers for multiple studies
- Maintain study documentation under the oversight of the research coordinator.
This position reports to the Research Manager in the assigned therapeutic area. The Research Associate is supervised by a Clinical Research Coordinator when making patient contact. The incumbent interacts regularly with MHIF staff, Minneapolis Heart Institute (MHI) physicians, Abbott Northwestern staff, and vendors, which may include study sponsors.

- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a related field
- High attention to detail, strong ability to organize projects and documents, and ability to create thorough documentation
- A mature conscientious individual with the ability to work independently with strong problem‑solving skills
- Must be able to manage work across multiple concurrent projects
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with others as a team and in support of a positive work culture
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Skilled in Microsoft suite including Excel
- Strong technical aptitude
- Previous experience or exposure to research is preferred
