Research Scientist, Biomedical Science
Position Summary
Position Summary:
The Researcher will use a multi-pronged approach, including biochemistry, CRISPR-based genetic editing, gene expression analysis, proteomics, and imaging. The Researcher’s role will include support of the day-to-day lab operation, working with graduate students and post-docs, carrying out research projects under supervision.
Work Schedule:
In-person, 5 days a week, and 40 hour a week.
Research (80%):
- Conduct research in a molecular and cellular neuroscience/stem cell lab for disease modeling using patient derived induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSC) and novel mouse model.
- Plan and conduct experiments.
- Perform data analysis and generate figures.
- Work with rodents.
- Work with tissue culture.
Lab management (20%):
- Order supplies for the lab.
- Write and maintain biosafety and animal/human subject protocols.
- Assist in overseeing the lab operation.
Required Qualifications:
- Holds a BS or BA degree plus two years of relevant experience, or a combination of education relevant experience to equal at least 6 years.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with cell culture.
- Experience working with rodent models.
Pay Range: $22.12/hr - $27/hr ; depending on education/qualifications/experience
