Horticulturist

Seasonal Position – Flexible work schedule / Retail store hours.

• Answer customers’ questions regarding care of a wide variety of plants in our garden center and look up other plants as needed.
• Maintain knowledge of trees, shrubs, perennials, and annuals.
• Work on sales floor and registers, assisting customers and implementing Bachman’s Customer Service Culture.
• Process all store transactions, including in-store pickup, curbside pickup, delivery orders, returns, and transfers to other stores.
• Maintain store appearance with general cleaning, caring for plants, dusting, stocking, and displaying merchandise.
• Answer telephone calls regarding horticulture questions.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Excellent customer relations and communication skills.
• Ability to read, write English, and perform basic math skills.
• High energy level and ability to follow work direction.
• Past register experience preferred.
• Comfortable working in heat, cold, and wet conditions.
• Ability to stand and walk on hard surfaces during entire shift at a fast pace.
• Capacity to lift 50 lbs with frequent bending.

• April through September.
• Flexible work schedule / Retail store hours (e.g., nights, weekends, holidays).
• Expected to work a minimum of half weekend days each month, more in May.
