Role Description The Wine Shop Associate is a part-time, on-site role based in Minneapolis, MN. This role involves greeting customers, answering questions, and guiding guests toward wine selections that match their tastes, occasions, and budgets. Responsibilities include merchandising shelves, maintaining product displays, restocking inventory, and ensuring the shop is clean, organized, and visually appealing. The associate may assist with point-of-sale transactions, membership or loyalty programs, and occasional in-store tastings or events.

Day-to-day tasks also include learning about new arrivals, staying familiar with the current assortment, and providing clear, friendly information about wines and related products.

Qualifications

• Customer service and hospitality skills, including the ability to engage warmly with guests and provide thoughtful recommendations.
• Basic wine knowledge or strong interest in learning about wine styles, regions, and producers.
• Retail skills such as cash handling, point-of-sale operation, and inventory support.
• Communication skills, including clear verbal communication and active listening.
• Organization and attention to detail for merchandising, stocking, and maintaining a tidy, safe shop environment.
• Must be able to work most weekends
• Ability to stand for extended periods, lift and move wine cases with appropriate safety practices, and work scheduled evenings or weekends as needed.
• Previous experience in retail, food and beverage, or hospitality is beneficial but not required.
• Must meet legal age requirements for handling and serving alcoholic beverages in Minnesota.
