The Minnesota Star Tribune has a great opportunity for a Account Executive on our Advertising Sales Team in Minneapolis MN
. Working with a team of internal experts to provide custom marketing & advertising solutions to customers, this Account Executive role will focus primarily on accounts throughout Minnesota and the metro area while proactively prospecting new business accounts.
We are seeking an organized and self-motivated sales professional with a strong ability to strategically hunt for business and sell multiple advertising solutions, problem solve, develop lasting relationships in person and remote, demonstrate value, manage and develop active sales pipeline, close business, grow account revenues, provide strategic marketing recommendations, negotiate agreements and effectively present remotely and in person. Our ideal Account Executive candidate demonstrates a high degree of natural passion for all media and advertising trends.
They prioritize collaboration, results, service, integrity, and competitive environments and always seek to help advertising partners and their businesses grow.
- Minimum of 1 year of sales or account management experience.
- A college degree or equivalent sales experience is required.
- Has a strategic hunter mindset and enjoys prospecting for new business.
- Understands the sales process and plans for each stage of the sales process.
- Deep-rooted passion or experience for digital advertising and multiple digital media platforms is strongly preferred.

- Strong ability to execute, manage, and demonstrate ROAS for advertising partners.
- Thrives in an extremely competitive and fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills.
- Proficient in Forecasting/Revenue Management systems, Campaign Management systems and CRM tools.
- Enjoys cold calling, networking, outside sales, and managing an active sales pipeline.
- Must be currently legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status, 0-1, TM, CPT, OPT, etc.). We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.
Annual pay for this position ranges from $70,000 - $120,000. This position is eligible for bonuses and incentives which is included within the pay estimate.
Compensation for the role will depend on several factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience and may fall outside of the range shown.
