Position Summary
The Senior District Business Manager (DBM) is a critical role within BMS’s customer model to drive adoption of the cardiovascular portfolio and generate demand. The DBM leads, coaches, and motivates a team of 6‑10 Territory Account Specialists (TASs) to meet sales targets and support our strategic goals.
Work ArrangementThe DBM is a field‑based role and is expected to spend 100% of the time in the field, traveling to visit customers and internal stakeholders as required.
Key Responsibilities- Coaches TASs on specific competencies and learning objectives (scientific agility, customer mindset, change agility, teamwork).
- Owns the TAS learning journey and ensures continuous improvement in core skills and behaviors.
- Champions adoption of new digital capabilities and tools such as CE³ analytics and Medical on Call.
- Conducts field engagements, ride‑alongs, and strategic account planning to prioritize key customers.
- Leads financial and program planning for the district, ensuring balanced budgets and forecast accuracy.
- Ensures compliance with all laws, regulations, and BMS policies.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent with a minimum of 5 years of pharmaceutical industry experience.
- Prior experience as a District Business Manager or in leading high‑performing sales teams.
- Strong understanding of reimbursement processes, access, and distribution environments.
- Proven track record of inspiring teams to meet or exceed sales goals.
- Analytical, selling, and business acumen with experience in the pharmaceutical value chain.
- Valid driver’s license and qualified driver status (age 21+, safe driving record).
- Coaching mindset: drive continuous improvement and develop team skills.
- Customer/commercial mindset: build credibility, engage customers, and provide tailored solutions.
- Scientific agility: communicate complex data clearly to HCPs.
- Change agility: manage change and adopt new ways of working.
- Analytical mindset: use data insights to inform engagement and strategic planning.
- Digital mindset: proficient with digital tools and capabilities.
- Teamwork/enterprise mindset: collaborate across matrix, balancing individual drive with teamwork.
Field – United States: $168,130 – $203,734 annual base salary. Additional incentive cash and stock opportunities may be available. Final compensation will be determined based on demonstrated experience.
