Position Summary

The Enterprise Strategic Account Executive (ESAE) is a high‑performance hunter role with primary accountability for generating and closing net‑new business within large supplier organizations ($300M+ in annual revenue).

This role is measured by pipeline creation, new logo acquisition, and revenue attainment, with a relentless focus on outbound prospecting and opportunity conversion. The ESAE consistently builds a robust sales funnel through targeted account penetration, multi‑threaded outreach, and disciplined follow‑up. While inbound leads are supported through internal partnerships, success in this role depends on the ESAE’s ability to proactively create demand, engage executive stakeholders, and drive deals to close.

Leveraging strong business acumen and executive presence, the ESAE diagnoses complex customer challenges and positions SPS solutions as mission‑critical investments that deliver measurable business impact.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prospect for new clients through email campaigns, networking, cold calling, and other effective strategies to offer SPS Commerce solutions.
  • Build relationships and generate future business using a prescriptive approach that provides customers with a clear understanding of SPS Commerce Full Service products and value.
  • Collaborate with internal team members and partners to create and present effective solutions.
  • Orchestrate sales cycle and align with key stakeholders to drive maximum value and revenue.
  • Create and deliver persuasive executive‑level presentations that move clients to a purchase decision in full compliance with their supply chain requirements.
  • Communicate trends in the customer base to Product Management, Channel and Customer Support.
  • Partner with clients as their business needs change and identify opportunities to upsell/cross‑sell.
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree AND 8 years of relevant work experience with 4+ years quota‑carrying sales experience OR some post‑secondary education AND 12 years of relevant work experience.
  • Demonstrated experience managing large or Enterprise sales cycles from prospecting to close, patiently overcoming objections, using tools and resources to demonstrate value and persisting through sales cycles.
  • Strong customer orientation with a demonstrated ability to identify customer challenges and articulate a value‑added solution.
  • Strong track record in selling achievements; conceptual and strategic sales experience with high motivation and results orientation.
  • Demonstrated ability to think and plan strategically with organization and prioritization skills to execute effectively.
  • Excellent communication and cross‑functional teamwork skills (product management, support, sales and senior management).
  • Strong verbal, written & presentation communication skills, with ability to translate technical and customer information into product requirements for different level audiences.
  • Proven competence with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and a CRM.

Location

This role follows a hybrid work model, with regular in‑office presence required at our Minneapolis office.

Compensation

Annualized compensation target inclusive of base salary and commission. Total annualized on‑target compensation: $220,000.
