Business Development Manager – Minneapolis, MN, US

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Achieve P&L targets; manage the business for each client (s) assigned, implement marketing strategies, and analyze trends and results to achieve income and expense budget goals.
  • Own and drive revenue growth; identify opportunities, utilize forecasting methods, and align business unit resources to secure those opportunities.
  • Meet and/or exceed client goals for sales, distribution, pricing, shelving, and promotional volume.
  • Manage and maximize manufacturer marketing/promotional funds to achieve sales goals while staying within financial guidelines.
  • Implement customer headquarters calls and penetrate key positions at retailer departments.
  • Organize a business unit team to retain and expand all client relationships.
  • Identify opportunities and close white space within the market.
  • Assist team to navigate the larger company organization to align needed resources and support to ensure client and customer initiative success.
  • Facilitate communication, opportunities, challenges, and workflow with other team members, and attend all client meetings and reviews.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 2–5 years of relative work experience in an applicable field.
  • Minimum 2 years of CPG/Retail B2B sales experience.
  • Proven track record in B2B sales within the Retail/CPG space with strong sales presentation, development, and closing skills.
  • Working knowledge of syndicated data forecasts; ability to set objectives, anticipate, structure tasks, and establish priorities.
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong team player who cooperates with others toward common objectives, respects the ideas and contributions of colleagues, cultivates positive relationships, and provides assistance and support.
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Demonstrated commitment to meeting or exceeding customer expectations, effectively soliciting and responding to the needs of both external and internal customers.
  • Effective verbal and written business communication skills that achieve business objectives.

TRAVEL &

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Driving required on an as‑needed basis. Travel up to 40% of the time.

Work performed primarily in an office environment. Incumbent must be able to sit for extended periods (66%+ of the day), hear telephone conversations, enter data on a computer, and lift up to 10 pounds.
