Overview

The Field Sales Representative is responsible for driving brand awareness through in market execution and activations while delivering distribution and volume targets for Layup Hemp Drink in Minnesota. The priority for this role is to provide superior customer service by acting as an ambassador of the brands while being a category advisor to any outlet in the state selling Hemp drinks through leveraging data‑driven solutions to increase Layups presence.

Reporting to the Vice President of Sales, this role involves outreach to current customers and non-buy customers, educating customers and store associates on Layups Hemp drinks, visual merchandising, and representing the brand at events like trade shows and expos. Ideal candidates have experience in the beverage industry or cannabis industry, possess excellent communication skills, and are motivated, detail-oriented, and flexible.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Hyper focus on the top accounts in market and develop a list of long-term partners who are eager to collaborate by scaling our portfolio of brands.
  • Merchandise stores and execute in-store tastings.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of Layup Hemp Drink product lines and effectively educate customers.
  • Act as consultant to customers by sharing category data to ensure product mix meets consumers’ demands.
  • Maintain a list of target accounts to pursue turning non-buy outlets into buying outlets and deliver incremental velocity through superior execution.
  • Support brand awareness and engagement to build and drive B2B relationships.
  • Conduct staff training sessions to drive education and brand awareness.
  • Provide content to customers to promote our products on their webpages and on their social channels.
  • Represent Layup Hemp Drink at customer-facing events, including trade shows, expos, and activations.
  • Maintain professionalism and discretion regarding company matters.
Project Management
  • Work in collaboration with marketing and sales teams to execute campaigns that drive traffic, sales, and consumer awareness while increasing market share.
  • Leverage the occasions calendar to determine the brand priorities for each month, supported with our marketing assets.
Administrative Work
  • Conduct ongoing research on cannabis events and trends.
  • Prepare reports and recaps of training sessions and events, including feedback and surveys.
  • Collaborate with our distribution partners to develop MBOS, incentives, work with local partners, and leverage data to drive business solutions.
  • Maintain a Field Marketing Representative toolkit and educational materials.
  • Update the CRM daily with customer interactions.
Basic Qualifications
  • 2+ years of experience in sales, and/or promotional role required.
  • Willing to work nights and weekends.
  • Strong time management skills, highly organized, and detail-oriented.
  • A self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment with flexibility.
  • Knowledge or willingness to learn state‑specific cannabis laws and regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • An eye for aesthetics, styling, and brand presentation.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Must have access to reliable transportation (commuter benefits apply).
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks for long periods of time.
  • Ability to push, pull, or lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
