Territory Manager – Northeast Region

Emery Jensen Distribution, a subsidiary of Ace Hardware Corporation, distributes hardline products to independent Pro Lumber, Paint, Hardware, and e‑retail customer segments. We are looking for a Territory Manager who will drive profitable sales growth with current and new customers across the Northeast Region.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute a strategic sales plan that increases the Emery Jensen customer base within a defined geographic territory.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with owners and key decision makers, visiting core customers at least every 30 days.
  • Organize and prioritize weekly customer sales routes and calls to meet company goals.
  • Enter leads, new business opportunities, prospects, and core store visits into Salesforce each Friday at noon.
  • Secure 1–2 prospect visits per week in accordance with the 2023 WIG document.
  • Complete an average of 8–10 store visits weekly.
  • Represent Emery Jensen professionally and ethically in all day‑to‑day activities.
  • Communicate successes and challenges to the Leadership Team to gain insight and support.
  • Collaborate with the Sales Support Team, Care Center, and other internal partners to resolve customer issues promptly.
  • Share ideas and sales successes with the Emery Jensen team to help achieve objectives.
  • Exercise sound judgment regarding expenses such as travel and entertainment.
Qualifications
  • Motivated self‑starter with a solutions‑based focus on customer needs.
  • 5+ years of B2B sales experience (preferred). Hardware sales and pro lumber experience is a plus.
  • Excellent listening, negotiating, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Strong strategic thinking with the ability to develop, implement, and achieve a sales growth plan.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and opportunities simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Extensive travel required, including overnight travel.
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
  • BA/BS degree or equivalent preferred.
Essential Functions
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
  • Road warrior: travel by plane or car at least 3 days per week.
  • Occasional lifting or moving of up to 50 pounds.
  • Physical requirements include standing, walking, sitting, climbing a ladder, and using hands and arms for handling or seeing close and distance vision tasks.
Work Authorization

Compensation

$80,000 - $90,000 per year.
