Role Overview
Ziegler CAT is seeking a Construction Customer Support Representative to promote and sell company parts, service, and technology capabilities through calls to existing customers and lead generation. The role also coordinates shop workflow, processes work orders, schedules appointments, and facilitates machine demos with sales personnel.
Responsibilities- Promote and sell Caterpillar and heavy equipment parts and service capabilities.
- Inspect customer heavy equipment and develop proposals and estimates.
- Prepare and deliver quotations and annual maintenance contracts.
- Plan daily sales call itineraries and make sales calls to existing and prospective customers.
- Manage customer database (Sales Link) and update call lists.
- Follow up with customers to ensure satisfaction and resolve post‑service issues.
- Maintain good customer relations and intercede to solve problems and disputes.
- Answer questions about parts, service prices, availability, and credit terms.
- Sell value through cost‑improvement proposals.
- Understand competition and maintain the company’s competitive edge.
- Instruct service department personnel on repair times and expedite parts orders.
- Coordinate vehicle transport and schedule appointments.
- Work closely with Sales, Service, Parts, and Caterpillar personnel to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Collaborate with Service Writer and Service Manager to open and close work orders and manage parts, labor, and misc. charges.
- Maintain current customer equipment inventory using CRM.
- Log future customer maintenance and keep abreast of new product developments.
- 2‑year degree required; 4‑year degree preferred but not mandatory depending on experience.
- 2+ years of outside sales experience in the construction field.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with the construction industry.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Physical Requirements
Up to 75% travel mandatory.
- Push/pull up to 10 lbs.
- Lift up to 30 lbs.
- Carry up to 50 lbs.
- Perform standing, walking, using hands, talking, hearing, neck and trunk rotation, stair and ladder climbing, repetitive bending, kneeling, sustained squatting, forward and overhead reaching.
- Competitive base salary ($90,700.00 — $) plus incentive.
