Sales Development Program Sales Associate - ROS

United Rentals is the world’s largest equipment rental provider and offers a structured Sales Development Program (SDP) to prepare you for a future role as an Outside Sales Representative. The program combines on‑site training, digital onboarding, and outbound sales campaigns to develop product knowledge, customer relationship skills, and sales strategies.

• Attend a local branch training program that covers both sales and operational roles, giving you a full view of the equipment‑rental lifecycle.
• Participate in a digital onboarding class focused on sales techniques and a strong internal support network.
• Progress through outbound sales campaigns across construction verticals, customer segments, and equipment types.
• Master United Rentals sales tools such as the CRM, inventory management platform, customer portal, and mobile applications.
• Lead high‑level sales conversations covering price negotiations, multi‑piece rental requests, government and educational agreements, equipment service contracts, and used‑equipment sales.
• Apply proven sales methodologies to deliver solutions and drive revenue growth.
• Engage in local team initiatives including safety huddles, customer appreciation events, yard‑sale and charity drives, and internal team‑building workshops.
• Track Sales Development progress with real‑time metrics, weekly peer competitions, and receive feedback from corporate and local leadership.
• Develop account strategies, create realistic timelines, and drive engagement during meetings.

The average SDP duration is 4‑6 months, after which you may be promoted to an Outside Sales Representative (OSR) depending on market conditions and individual performance.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• Experience in a customer‑facing sales role preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
• Proficient computer and mobile phone/tablet skills.
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.

• Must live within reasonable driving distance of the assigned branch.
• On‑site training Monday to Friday.

Compensation Range: $30.45 – $43.85 per hour.
