The Analytical Chemist performs new method development and routine testing for the analytical lab using a variety of analytical techniques, including but not limited to LCMS, HPLC, titrations, FTIR, ICP-OES, and IC. In addition to new method development, this position will support routine testing for our surface finishing and water treatment segments and non-routine ad-hoc testing as needed.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Lab Operations- Conduct routine lab testing on Surface Finishing Group customer samples.
- Conduct routine lab testing on Water Treatment Group customer samples.
- Generate and maintain lab analysis reports.
- Review lab procedures and update as necessary.
- May manage hazardous waste disposal and assist with lab supply inventory.
- Other analytical method development as required.
- Perform ad-hoc, non-routine analysis, including titrations and other wet chemistry techniques.
- Assist with method validations.
- New method development, including but not limited to an Agilent Ultivo LCMS, including setup and writing of lab procedures.
- Perform instrument maintenance as required.
- May interface with internal stakeholders and customers as needed.
- Other duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or closely related field required
- 0-5 years of experience
- LCMS experience strongly preferred
- Demonstrated experience with data analysis and problem solving
- Detail oriented
- Proven experience with presenting data and strong communication skills
- Experience with calibration and basic maintenance of lab equipment
- Independent and proactive
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
TRAVELOccasional travel may be required for training purposes
Expected Compensation$65,/year. (DOE) + 5% Bonus Eligibility
