Reports To: Resident Services Supervisor(s)

FLSA Status: Non‑Exempt

Starting Pay: $22/hr

Schedule: Full time – 40 hours per week. Days:
Wednesday – Sunday, 4 pm – 12 am.

Job Summary

The RSO Coordinator is responsible for the development, implementation, and administration of internal safety and security functions within the Riverside Plaza Resident Services Office. The role serves as the designated security officer, monitoring patrols, CCTV, and emergency incidents, conducting inspections, managing clearances and special accesses, and maintaining security documentation and reports.

Essential Functions
  • Monitors all RSO staff patrols and maintains high communication.
  • Acts as the central dispatch area for RSO staff.
  • Monitors CCTV for unusual activity and coordinates responses for employees and residents.
  • Works with emergency personnel, residents, and the public to resolve problems.
  • Investigates reported incidents and determines actions based on facts and limitations.
  • Writes reports on accidents, incidents, suspicious activities, safety and fire hazards.
  • Performs periodic and random security inspections and prepares security reports.
  • Issues security violation citations as required.
  • Maintains inspection records and advises senior management of deficiencies.
  • Prepares personnel actions and forms for security clearances; briefs incoming staff and debriefs outgoing staff.
  • Establishes procedures for handling, safeguarding, and destroying documents and data.
  • Assists in implementation and administration of automated security systems.
  • Fills out miscellaneous paperwork (e.g., parking contracts, key logs, proximity card requests).
  • Notifies the Resident Services Supervisor of inspections, elevator problems, and maintenance issues.
  • Performs other tasks and duties as assigned based on business needs.
  • Builds trust and confidence with internal and external customers.
  • Maintains effective business relationships and communicates effectively in writing and verbally.
  • Acts as a team player, practices active listening, and responds professionally.
  • Plans, organizes, and prioritizes work duties to produce required volume of work.
  • Adheres to attendance, grooming, appearance, and general work rules.
  • Maintains a clean and safe work environment and follows emergency procedures.
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local health and safety laws.
  • Attends all required department and company meetings.

Minimum Requirements

Education & Experience

  • 2–5 years of related customer service experience, ideally in security and safety.
  • Knowledge of security operations, safety practices, and enforcement procedures.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred.
  • Military or law‑enforcement training/experience preferred.

  • Ability to work with diverse cultural populations.
  • Language skills in Somali, Oromo, or Arabic preferred.

  • Basic to intermediate computer skills for monitoring, data entry, and reporting.
  • Regular long hours, frequent weekend work, and availability on short notice.
  • Work weekends and evenings when required.

  • Regular talking and hearing; standing, walking, manual handling.
  • Vision: close, distance, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment.

Work Environment

  • Residential housing and office setting with moderate to loud noise levels.
  • Potential hazards include cuts, slips, trips, falls, and burns.
  • Exposure to ambient room temperatures, lighting, and standard office equipment.
Additional Screening Requirements
  • Pre‑employment strength test or CRT examination must be completed.
  • Successful criminal background screening per MN statute 299C.67–299C.71 (Kari Koskinen Background).
Compensation and Benefits

Pay: $22 per hour. Pay may vary based on experience, skills, and knowledge.
