Position: Job Posting: Neuroimaging Data Analyst at UMN

Position Summary

A research position is available in the Heilbronner Lab 10 in the Department of Neuroscience at the University of Minnesota. Understanding the neurobiology of complex behaviors requires linking diverse methodologies, species, and analytical approaches. The goal of our lab is to use anatomical connectivity and related techniques to help bridge the major divides in neuroscience.

Job Duties

Manage, process, and analyze neuroimaging data (MRI). The applicant should have a demonstrated background in the general computational techniques underlying modern neuroimaging analysis, as well as the specialized software packages used to conduct such processing. Additionally, the applicant should have demonstrated capabilities relating to the documentation, structuring, and curation of such datasets so as to facilitate subsequent publication, sharing, and reuse of said data products.

  • Bash / Bash scripting
  • Dataset curation, QA, and documentation

80% - Data Analysis

Qualifications

All required qualifications must be documented on application materials.

Required Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree plus two years of related experience, or an advanced degree, or a combination of education and work experience to equal at least six years.
Preferred Qualifcations:
  • Master’s degree in a science or engineering field
  • Git / Git Hub
  • High performance compute techniques (Slurm / job submission systems, Cross system coordination & interaction)
  • Data storage & management
  • BIDS formatting / conventions
  • Standard neuroimaging processing techniques (Alignment / registration / warping/Denoising)
  • Corrections (e.g. Bias field)
  • Advanced mathematical techniques
