Overview
We are seeking experienced Alarm Technicians to support our Service Team, providing on-going maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of fire alarm systems, intrusion alarm systems, and access control systems across commercial customer sites.
This role supports a variety of customer environments including retail, office, warehouse, distribution center, and industrial locations. Service technicians are home approximately 80% of the time, with limited overnight travel compared to project-based roles.
This position is ideal for a service-focused Alarm Technician who enjoys troubleshooting, customer interaction, and resolving issues efficiently in the field.
Responsibilities- Service, troubleshoot, and maintain fire alarm systems, intrusion alarm systems, and access control systems
- Diagnose system issues including panels, devices, wiring, and field components
- Perform inspections, testing, repairs, and device replacements
- Program and test alarm and access control systems to ensure proper operation and compliance
- Respond to service calls across various commercial environments
- Read and interpret service documentation, prints, and site layouts
- Communicate professionally with customers, inspectors, and internal teams
- Maintain accurate service records, reports, and documentation
- Travel locally and regionally with limited overnight stays
- Prior experience as an Alarm Technician performing service and troubleshooting work
- Strong understanding of fire alarm, security alarm, and access control systems
- Experience working independently in customer-facing environments
- Familiarity with alarm panels such as Silent Knight, Fire-Lite, Notifier, Bosch, DSC, and Honeywell
- Knowledge of NFPA codes and fire/life safety standards
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Valid drivers license with a clean driving record
- State-required licenses where applicable
- Lift and confined space certifications are a plus
- Hourly rate: $20–$45/hour
