ResponsibilitiesAs an Elevator Service Mechanic you will analyze, problem‑solve, and collaborate with subcontractors, general contractors, and consultants. You will help adhere to the agreed project schedules and report progress to the supervisor. Your priority will be site safety in accordance with standard practices and policies.
Added Responsibilities- All aspects of elevator maintenance, including troubleshooting major components such as rails, pits, hoist-way equipment, car and counterweight assemblies, and machine room equipment.
- Manually wire and install smaller components, including roller guides, door track and linkages, hall buttons, and lanterns – requiring color perception to distinguish color‑coded wiring.
- Ensure all work is performed safely in accordance with safety standards and policies to protect the health and welfare of yourself and others.
- Speak and write clearly for internal and external communications.
- High concentration and attention to detail while wiring, installing, maintaining, and updating elevator equipment.
- Physical:
Walk or stand approximately 80%, sit 20%; lift up to 100 lbs; stoop, bend, and crouch as required; travel up to 95% of the time. - Environmental:
Perform essential functions in field settings with exposure to non‑controlled climate conditions. - Manual Dexterity:
Use hands, arms, and feet for repetitive lifting and operation of hand and power tools; capable of operating an automobile.
- Eligibility for Membership in the International Union of Elevator Constructors.
- Wages, benefits, and working conditions defined by the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
Mechanic hourly wage rate is $58.31 since January 1, 2026. The compensation package is agreed based on the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
