About the Role:

At Paul Bunyan Plumbing & Drains, we believe great plumbers aren't born, they're trained.

As a Plumbing Apprentice, you'll learn directly from experienced professionals while gaining hands on experience in residential plumbing and drain services. Every day is different. One day you might be helping install a water heater, the next you could be assisting with a drain repair or helping solve a customer's plumbing emergency.

This isn't a desk job. You'll be lifting, digging, carrying tools, working in crawl spaces, and tackling challenges that require both physical effort and problem solving skills. It's demanding work, but it's also incredibly rewarding. You'll see the impact of your work firsthand and gain skills that can provide a successful career for years to come.

No experience? That's okay. We're looking for people with a strong work ethic, positive attitude, and willingness to learn. We'll teach you the plumbing.

What You'll Do:
  • Assist licensed plumbers with installations, repairs, maintenance, and drain cleaning services in residential homes.
  • Learn how plumbing and drainage systems operate, including water lines, drains, fixtures, water heaters, sump pumps, and sewer systems.
  • Help diagnose plumbing issues and develop troubleshooting skills under the guidance of experienced plumbers.
  • Prepare job sites, organize materials, load equipment, and maintain company vehicles.
  • Safely operate and maintain hand tools, power tools, and specialized plumbing equipment.
  • Follow all plumbing codes, safety standards, and company procedures.
  • Read work orders, job notes, and technical information related to plumbing systems.
  • Maintain accurate records of work completed, materials used, and hours worked.
  • Deliver outstanding customer service while representing Paul Bunyan Plumbing & Drains in customers' homes.
  • Participate in ongoing training, licensing requirements, and career development opportunities.
What Makes Someone Successful in This Role:
  • You show up on time and ready to work.
  • You enjoy working with your hands and solving problems.
  • You're willing to learn from experienced professionals.
  • You aren't afraid of hard work, dirty jobs, or challenging situations.
  • You have a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
  • You take pride in doing quality work.
  • You work well with others and contribute to a team environment.
  • You want a career, not just a job.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Enrolled in or willing to enroll in an approved plumbing apprenticeship program.
  • Previous construction, mechanical, automotive, farming, landscaping, or other hands on experience is a plus, but not required.
  • Strong desire to build a long term career in the plumbing trade.
  • Ability to follow instructions and learn from licensed plumbers and supervisors.
  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physical labor throughout the workday.
  • Comfortable working in basements, crawl spaces, outdoors, and other job site environments.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to pass a background check and pre employment screening.
Why Join Paul Bunyan Plumbing & Drains?
  • Earn while you learn a valuable skilled trade.
  • Receive hands on training from experienced professionals.
  • Clear career path with advancement opportunities.
  • Competitive pay and comprehensive benefits.
  • Year round work with a growing company.
  • Ongoing training and development opportunities.
  • Be part of a team that values hard work, integrity, and taking care of customers.
