Mechanic – Truck Equipment Installation & Repair

$30-35 in Fridley

We’re hiring a hands‑on mechanic to install, repair, and customize dump trucks, municipal trucks, and related equipment. This is a fast‑paced shop role with a lot of variety—ideal for someone who enjoys working with their hands and solving mechanical problems.

• Install and repair dump bodies, hoists, hydraulics, liftgates, tarps, plows, sanders, and accessories.
• Perform MIG welding and basic fabrication.
• Complete 12‑V wiring and electrical installs.
• Use plasma or oxy‑acetylene cutting tools.
• Read blueprints and work orders.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
• Operate forklifts and overhead cranes.
• Test equipment to ensure safe operation.
• Work closely with a team in a busy shop.

• Strong mechanical aptitude (truck or heavy equipment preferred).
• Experience with hydraulics and 12‑V electrical.
• Experience with welding and fabrication.
• Ability to read prints and troubleshoot issues.
• Comfortable using hand and power tools.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and stay active throughout the shift.
• Team player with a safety‑first mindset.

• Experience with dump or municipal trucks.
• Job shop or dealership experience.
• DOT inspection experience.

Contract to Hire position based out of Minneapolis, MN.
