Compensation

$21.50 hourly. Starting rate ranges from $21.50 per hour for new locators to $29.50 per hour for those with substantial prior locating experience.

Your Responsibilities as a Locator
  • Correctly, safely, and efficiently locate underground utilities, including telecommunications, electric power, cable TV, gas, water, and sewer systems.
  • Thoroughly search for underground utilities in designated areas, accurately mark locations, complete necessary documentation, and photograph each locate.
  • Work full‑day, full‑time positions with a 48‑hour turnaround on many locates, requiring overtime, weekend, and on‑call shifts, including nights and weekends.
What We Need from You (Our Requirements)
  • Able to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Proficiency with technology.
  • Available to work overtime, weekends, and on‑call shifts as needed.
  • Able to pass a drug screen (safety‑sensitive position).
  • Valid driver's license and safe driving record.
  • Able to work in confined spaces; walk, bend, lift up to 75 lbs.
  • Able to distinguish colors used to identify wiring and mark underground utilities.
  • Able to read, understand, and reference locate tickets, maps, and prints.
  • Able to communicate clearly with colleagues, customers, contractors, and homeowners.
