Mechanic – Truck Equipment Installation & Repair

$30-35 in Fridley

We're hiring a hands-on mechanic to install, repair, and customize dump trucks, municipal trucks, and related equipment. This is a fast-paced shop role with a lot of variety—ideal for someone who enjoys working with their hands and solving mechanical problems.

• Install and repair:
  • Dump bodies, hoists, hydraulics
  • Liftgates, tarps, plows, sanders, accessories
• Perform MIG welding and basic fabrication
• Complete 12V wiring and electrical installs
• Use plasma or oxy-acetylene cutting tools
• Read blueprints and work orders
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues
• Operate forklifts and overhead cranes
• Test equipment to ensure safe operation
• Work closely with a team in a busy shop

• Strong mechanical aptitude (truck or heavy equipment preferred)
• Experience with:
  • Hydraulics and 12V electrical
  • Welding and fabrication
• Ability to read prints and troubleshoot issues
• Comfortable using hand and power tools
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and stay active throughout the shift
• Team player with a safety-first mindset

• Experience with dump or municipal trucks
• Job shop or dealership experience
• DOT inspection experience

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Minneapolis, MN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
