Position

Advanced Solar Field Service Technician (Operations and Maintenance) – PEARCE Renewables Solar Operations and Maintenance Division. The role is based near Minneapolis, Minnesota and requires candidates to reside within 50 miles of the Minneapolis area.

Core Responsibilities
  • Conduct preventative and corrective maintenance of Solar Utility and Sub‑Station equipment.
  • Document work through work orders, time logs, inventory control, and emergency schedules.
  • Troubleshoot electrical components using digital multi‑meters, meggers, amp clamps, and similar equipment.
  • Test and troubleshoot installed solar equipment to ensure proper operation.
  • Apply strong safety practices, including Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) and Job Hazard Analysis (JHA).
  • Work independently or as part of a team.
  • Operate and maintain a motor vehicle safely and legally per the PEARCE Renewables Employee Handbook and insurance requirements.
Core Experience and Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in commercial/industrial operations and maintenance on solar power plants.
  • Experience in preventative maintenance on Solar Utility equipment.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and installation skills.
  • Preferable experience with inverters, tracker systems, or sub‑station equipment (TMEIC/SMA/Sungrow/Nextracker/ATI, etc.).
  • Ability to identify and report issues on site.
  • Capability to train, mentor, and develop laborers into apprentices.
  • High work ethic and strong motivation.
Physical/Work Environment
  • Must live within approximately 50 miles of Minneapolis, Minnesota.
  • Work outdoors in ambient temperatures.
  • Lift and move equipment up to 50 pounds.
  • Availability for weekend and holiday work, including on‑call service via telephone/text.
  • Travel up to 25 % of the time as required by the company.
Compensation

$30.00‑$42.00 hourly/DOE. Salaries are influenced by skill set, experience, and location. Employees may also receive performance and referral bonuses, production incentives, tool/equipment and fuel stipends, a company vehicle, per diem, or other applicable compensation. Base pay range: $30 USD – $42 USD.
